Though the tenants were vacated under the pretense that the building was in imminent danger of exploding, all of the City agencies park their oversize RVs on Kent Avenue directly in front of what was purported to be a ticking time bomb. The vacated tenants are sent around the corner to a school gymnasium where a temporary Office of Emergency Management in-take center had been set up. When an OEM staff member asks a 475 tenant why he was there he replies, “I was vacated by the FDNY”. The staffer asks: “How do spell FDNY?”
